Every year, Bulgarian legislation presents immigrants with new bureaucratic surprises. 2019 was no exception - all representatives of foreign companies are forced to fill out and submit a list of documents to the Bulstat Register. There is information about the amount of fines from 500 to 5000 leva for those who “did not know”, “did not hear” or simply ignored the legislation. The official reason for the bureaucratic innovation is the release of the law “On Measures to Combat Money Laundering.”
It would be useful to note that since the information is new, many Bulgarian lawyers and even employees of Bulstat itself have not yet fully understood the rules for submitting and filling out documentation. In connection with this, many different assumptions have been put forward in the Internet space about the correct approach to meeting the new requirements.
In this article, the author shares his experience in submitting documentation, and also offers you a step-by-step action plan for preparing papers. Documents can be submitted by the founder, director or representative of the company.

Additional information
Employees of the Register Bulstat do not find fault with documents, however, they will be very grateful to you if you fill out the document electronically and not by hand. Apparently, the innovation is primarily aimed at identifying data about the owners of companies. Oddly enough, none of the documents require a passport number. The process of accepting documents takes about 30 minutes. The person submitting the documents must have a residence permit/permanent residence card with him. At the end, you will receive a paper with a unique number certifying that you have submitted the necessary documents.
