The official dates for the 23rd Jazz Festival in Bansko this year have been announced: from August 8 to August 14. Traditionally, concerts are held in the evenings on an open-air stage on Nikolai Vaptsarov Square in the city center. Let us remind you that the first Jazz Fest took place in 1998, thanks to Doctor Emil Iliev, who treated his patients with the help of music and wanted to expand the therapeutic effect to the scale of the whole of Bansko.

The New Year's fair was opened at 22nd of November in the very heart of Bulgaria. It's also known a Deutscher Weihnachtsmarkt Sofia 2019 or «Немски Коледен Базар». The event takes place in the central park of Sofia city, near the square «Prince Alexander I» / «Княз Александър I». The fair is opened daily from November 22 till December 22, from 11 am — 10 pm.

There are about 20 trading booths in the park, decorated with pine branches and lights. Traditional German fast food is on the menu: hot dogs, pork ribs, waffles, fried potatoes, strudel, almonds in caramel, shaped chocolate. Craft beer (draft and bottled), raspberry-flavored hot wine and non-alcoholic punch are among the offered drinks. Certainly, in addition to snacks there are plenty of handmade Christmas toys and decorations. The entrance is free, however prices for food and souvenirs are quite high, comparing to local.

At the end of winter, on March 28, the international annual masquerade festival Kukerlandia traditionally starts. Costumed monsters of all stripes will gather to scare away evil spirits from the lands of Bulgaria. Kukeri, survakari, mechkari, stanchinari, maskari, dervishes and jamali, babugeri, elders will dance for 4 days in the south-east of Bulgaria in the city of Yambol. It is worth mentioning that the carnival has been held annually for 20 years, and this year the festival celebrates its anniversary.
