Coronavirus in Bulgaria: bans return

Nightlife lovers and football fans today have last chance to visit their favorite establishment. From tomorrow (July 10), bars and discos located indoors will again close, and matches will be played without spectators. The decree (Precept No. RD-01-393/07/09/2020) was issued by Health Minister Kiril Ananiev after the number of coronavirus infections increased to 200 people per day. The decree will be valid until June 15, but the authorities have already announced that they are preparing to extend the epidemic situation until the end of July.

In accordance with the decree, visiting nightclubs and bars will now be possible only in open areas. In addition, staff will be required to wear protective equipment and visitors will be required to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters.

The Minister of Health also ordered that all collective and individual sporting events of a training and competitive nature be conducted without an audience, regardless of whether the events are held outdoors or indoors. This requirement applies to all age categories.

There is also a limit of 30 people for personal celebrations, including weddings, baptisms, etc., whether outdoors or indoors.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that changes in anti-epidemic measures will play a role and the situation will return to normal. Another positive fact is that the number of people recovering from the new virus is increasing.

“Practice shows that discipline is not our strongest quality, so we must reintroduce these measures,” said Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
