Hut Vihren (“hut” in Bulgarian) is located in the Pirin Mountains in southwestern Bulgaria, 16 km from the town of Bansko, 35 minutes drive from Polyana Banderitsa, at an altitude of 1972 meters above sea level. Kukerlandia 2019. Annual festival in Yambol
At the end of winter, on March 28, the international annual masquerade festival Kukerlandia traditionally starts. Costumed monsters of all stripes will gather to scare away evil spirits from the lands of Bulgaria. Kukeri, survakari, mechkari, stanchinari, maskari, dervishes and jamali, babugeri, elders will dance for 4 days in the south-east of Bulgaria in the city of Yambol. It is worth mentioning that the carnival has been held annually for 20 years, and this year the festival celebrates its anniversary.

Bulgaria has run out of blue license plates
Blue license plates are issued to people living in Bulgaria using a residence permit card (the car is registered to an individual). Contains the alphabetic value XX and a combination of numbers of 4 characters, example: “XX 1234”. The validity of vehicle documents (PTS) and the expiration date of the license plates are directly related to the validity period of the personal card. As a result, an annual visit to KAT is required to present a personal card and renewal.

Fines for traffic violations in Bulgaria in 2019
To begin with, I would like to note that in general, problems with road inspectors on Bulgarian highways arise infrequently. The guards, with rare exceptions, behave calmly, sometimes they can let the driver go without a fine, giving a warning, and also, often, treat ladies driving condescendingly. However, do not forget that there are cameras installed on the highways that detect violations of the speed limit and the presence of an unpaid vinet tax. In addition, drivers should keep in mind that since 2019, fines for non-compliance with traffic rules have increased slightly.

Electronic vignette in Bulgaria
With the advent of the new year, modern rules for issuing and paying for vignettes in Bulgaria came into force. It should be noted that now there is no need to stick a paper sticker on the windshield of the car. When checked by road inspectors, drivers are not required to present a document confirming the purchased electronic vignette, since payment data is now available online. Prices for e-vinettes remain unchanged for all vehicles; in some cases, it is necessary to pay a percentage to the intermediary seller.

Japanese wedding in the mountains of Bulgaria

The glass facade of the Largo shopping center collapsed. Hurricane wind in Bulgaria
Strong hurricane winds blew away most of the glass decorative facade of Largo Mall in the center of Blagoevgrad. This event happened today, September 24, in the evening at about 18.00. It is unknown if there are any casualties. Nevertheless, several ambulances arrived at the scene following a call to 112. “There is still no information about the wounded, colleagues are still on the spot,” said Yordanka Sharkova from the Blagoevgrad Ministry of Internal Affairs.
