There are few recipes for mushroom dishes in Bulgarian cookbooks, and local restaurants will at best offer you fried champignons. This does not mean that mushrooms do not grow in Bulgaria. Bulgaria is a European country located in the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula, the only European power that has retained its original name from its creation in 681 to the present day. As we all remember from the lessons of world history, Bulgaria was enslaved by the Ottoman Empire in the 14th century.
