Today, Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev proposed the government of Bulgaria to extend the epidemiological situation in the country until the end of July. This decision was mainly influenced by the analysis of indicators related to the number of new cases of COVID-19 infections. Last week, for the first time, more than 1,000 new virus carriers were registered.

Let us remind you that this is the fourth extension of the epidemiological situation, which replaced the state of emergency, lifted on May 13. The latest extension of the state of emergency was announced on June 24 until July 15. Ananiev added that the Ministry of Health will recommend that the regional headquarters for the fight against coronavirus tighten control over compliance with anti-epidemic measures and, if necessary, introduce new ones. It was also recommended to minimize “mass gatherings”, since they are a generator of the spread of infection.

According to worldometers.info

Ananiev announced that a new procedure for receiving citizens arriving from abroad is being prepared, and the list of countries for which mandatory 14-day quarantine will be required will also be adjusted.

It was also announced that Bulgaria is testing a drug for the treatment of COVID-19. Results are expected at the end of the month. The drug “ivermectin”, created on the basis of research by Australian scientists, has already been tested on 30 patients in Bulgaria.

Today 5 people died from coronavirus in Bulgaria: an 83-year-old woman with heart disease and neurology; A 63-year-old man with diabetes and heart disease; An 86-year-old man with heart disease and asthma; A 47-year-old man with no information about concomitant diseases; A 65-year-old man with heart disease.
